He suggests talking to a dietitian or nutritionist about a balanced diet and warns against adopting diets based on political causes or trends.

He explains that farmers and ranchers care for people, the animals they raise and the land in their care. Johnson also explains that people should take a moment to appreciate America's farmers and ranchers who dedicate their lives to providing food for everyone else.

"Today's pigs probably eat better than most people," says Dr. Gene Nemecek, a veterinarian. Today's pigs eat diets that consist primarily of corn and soybeans. This diet varies based upon the animal's age and takes into account the right levels of protein and carbohydrates, along with vitamins and minerals for the animal's stage of life.
